Just tried a new technique on book pages and thought I would show you what I ended up with ... I have been wanting to find a quick way to get the effect of paint and gesso over words with images ... this is what I did ink pad direct to paper in 2 colors then let that dry painted white gesso over it heat set it and added stamping and images and I am happy with the results and only took 10 minutes from ink to images where with paint it was taking 45 minutes or more .......

This is fantastic, thank you for sharing your techniques with us.
Dear Linda,
I hope you get this. I don't often have good luck leaving blog comments. Regardless, I must try, since I find your work so wonderful and your techniques so different.
I have a yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/abc_alteredbookclub/ and I teach a Sunday background every other Sunday.
Allow me to digress a bit before I continue. Someone told me about your web site when you started working with paint chips and I checked it out and marked it since I'm known as the Queen of Free and your paint chips were right up my alley. Then I saw your technique this Saturday and am anxious to try it. I would love to get your permission to teach this technique next Sunday and I would love for you to become a member of ABC.
I don't go around trolling for members, but I was so impressed with your work, I think you would be an excellent addition to our little group. If you decide to join, just say "Elizabeth invited me" and you'll be approved immediately.
Also, if you choose NOT to join, I will understand, but I would still like your permission to use the background technique you described. Either way, I'll continue to view your blog and get inspiration from it.

Your page is beautiful, Linda. I love the softness of the colors and the end result of this technique. The images are also great. Where did you find such great bird images?
These pages are really beautiful -- love the colors and the birds!! :)
