My GG book

Some of my online group friend got together and made me a GG book to honor our first Grandchild (our little miracle girl) ... they were so kind and it made me cry and realize how great it is to have friends all over the country ....... thanks again ladies ...... click to enlarge

Taking a hiatus from art

As several of you have read we will be having our first Grand Baby soon and this GG is doing lots more baby things than art these days .... our daughter is having some problems with her pregnancy she is now bed rest until our little miracle arrives ... I make camp at their house lots and may need to even more in a week or so ... I am sewing burp clothes, receiving blankets now and working up a digital scrapbook that after printing I will do some altering to each of the pages ...... anyway there won't be much going into The Art Sook for about 3 to 5 months because after our little miracle gets here our son's wedding will be very close and I want to give lots of time and detail to that also ... as I do things that I can take photo's of I will post some of them so keep coming back .... I wish everyone health, peace, happiness .... yes this is a photo of our daughter in all of her 8th month glory ...... till next time ...... Linda

Got something art wise done

I am in an online group that is doing a Fat 4x4 Book and the theme is Lock & Key ... anything you would keep under lock and key or what you think of when you hear the phrase ..... so I decided that the thing I think needs to be kept under lock and key the most is Pandora's Box .... click to enlarge

Went to an Art Retreat in Grapevine

An online group I am in has an art retreat each year for 4 days, it's such fun getting together and laughing and creating art ..... the theme this year was GIRLFRIENDS ... anyway these are some photo's of the projects we did ..... the corsage on the front was one of the small projects then the book was the big project (I am only posting 4 of the 7 spreads) and then we did a German glass edged slide that went into the book (the lady that showed us how to do it gave us each one with our name on it and I put mine on the front of my book), the back has some of the stuff from the weekend - my bunny slipper tag, a large decorated tickets for entrance to a party one night (we all decorated these tickets and then blind drew them after the event and I got this super one) .... we made an autograph book and each of us signed it , I am posting the front cover ... we also made this wonderful little pin nib butterfly and the background is Glimmer Mist .... and then this AWESOME wand was a drawing prize and I won .... enjoy .....

28 weeks today or 7 months for us old ones

well this is what I have been spending all my time doing lately ..... expecting a first Grand baby is so exciting I am sure each one will be but since this is our first I will have to wait to know ..... the nursery is still in progress .... the window is missing it's shelf rod to drape the swags and hold pretties, the rocking chair, in which the baby's Great Grandfather's rocked her mother and her uncle, corner is missing the chandelier; the changing table wall (which there is no photo this time is missing the shelf above it and the curved changing pad and the pretties for the shelf; the crib wall is missing the shelf above it (these shelves are antique from the baby's Great Grandparents mantel of there home) and the things that will go on it .... the colors didn't come out good in all the photos but the walls are lavender, the shears and recovered the rocker and stool (we did these) are soft lime, the black design on the walls I cut with the Cricut in vinyl and it was sooooo easy to adhere to the walls ... I will post more photos when it get finished ....

I wanted to THANK all the service men and women in our armed services today and in the years past for there bravery and watchfulness of our country and our freedom .... THANKS so much for taking a part of your life and giving it to us and special THANKS goes out the the families who gave the greatest sacrifice of there loved ones to us ...... Linda F

Chandalier for Nursery

ok so you know I will alter anything ...... so guess what I did ... I took this baby chandelier and added the colors our daughter chose for her baby's nursery, lime and lavender .... I may still add some more to it but this is how it stand right now .......

Spring family B-day/Anniversary Cards

Our lives have gotten so busy that we now do one large get together in the Spring and one in the Fall to celebrate birthdays and anniversary's ... this just happened for the Spring and I made some cards and thought I would share ... I have crocheted a lavender baby blanket and now I have done a center piece for a shower and a Mother To Be pin for the shower also ...... so my art has taken a different turn lately

Altering Spoons again

These are two spoons I just finished ... the butterfly one is done with Swarovski crystals, jade beads and mother of pearl circles the flower-vine on has Swarovski crystals, glass beads and pearlized flowers with metallic gold vine ... click to enlarge ... enjoy
