Valentines is on it's way

so I decided to make an explosion LOVE box .... 

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Tree is ready

Stocking are hung .... ALL over

Sideboard is ready for Sweets with Sweet Fairy and all

A few more Christmas Cards

still trying to make more to send out, but life keeps getting in the way so this may be it ....

I used Martha Stewart's punch for the top and bottom borders, just a regular circle punch 5 times for the ornament and the writing embossing folder

this one was very simple the only thing is Tim Holtz tree stamp the rest is just paper 

This one is Tim's Holly stencil and Speckles stencil, I used Tea Dye Tim's ink for the branches, Barn Door ink for the berries and Forest Moss for the leaves that I put on top of Peeled Paint then the Speckles were done in denominational paste and sprinkled with glitter while it was wet to look like snow falling, the next step was to cut a frame from the green cardstock and lay it over to mimic looking out a window

This is an easel card with a mixture of Tim's Snowflake border and Deer, Sizzix Snowflake #3 die and Martha Stewart's Snowflake punch, with pleated velvet ribbon and Tim's word stick painted with white craft paint and wiped down some

Poinsettias, my flower for Christmas, I wanted to do something in white in stead of red ... 

Starting the Christmas Season off

made some ornaments .... and a few cards so far ....

Now we are looking at Thanksgiving ...

I am very thankful for all of my family, good health and friends ... with those I can conquer the wold ...

some of the glitter letters don't show up to well but it says "Thankful"

Spooky!!!!!

Well it's FALL

so I did this tag to go on one of my decorator blocks ......

and this is for Thankgiving time ... when I put them on the blocks later I will do another photo ... yes those are keypunch cards .... how many remember them

911 NEVER forget ....

We still mourn the loss of life that day and know that the atrocity will never be forgotten and we will guard against it ever happening again ......

Using up some SCRAPS

This scrap was the little squares that I had leftover from another project so now they are little packages on a Birthday card ...

this is all scraps ... leftover from other projects but I really like the way it turned out ... wish I had that gear folder to make some more ....

ok this one is also all scraps ... guess you can recognize the Tim Holtz paper it was a VERY easy card ... 

More Tim Techniques

Actually these are the same technique but using different colors and then dyeing the ribbon using the same colors as the cards ....

1st I started off with Tim's manila cardstock and spritzed it with a fine mist then dabbed color stains to my carft sheet and then placed the cardstock in them and misted the cardstock again to help the colors blend ...  2nd I dried them with the heat gun, then back to the table to splatter big drops of water on the cardstock and blot off color with a paper towel .... when I was happy with the effect I dried it again and stamped images ... 3rd was to do stains on the craft sheet again and take white hem tape and mash it into the stains, then dry it some and scrunch it up and finish drying it .... 

Playing with Tim

ok not in real life but with some of his techniques .... ;-) ...

This one is using a stencil, distressed inks, spritzer with water  ... rub your ink pad on the stencil, I used 4 colors one in each corner of the stencil ... then spritz with water and lay watercolor paper on the stencil to transfer the watercolor effect of the ink ... then I used gray ink pad and stamped faint background then used black ink pad to stamp butterflies on the watercolor paper and again on scrap watercolor paper ... I cut out butterflies from scrap and using a dry water brush took and colored the butterflies from the same ink pads I had used on the stencil ... 

This one I did the same ink in 4 corners and spritzed but it was with a stamp then stamped on watercolor paper ... then I stamped Wishes in gray ink and stamped the Wizard in black and stamp him again on scrap cut him out and using dry water brush colored him ... after all of that I used the silver "Wink of Stella" pen to accent the sparkles and crystal ball of the Wizard .... think I will use this one for my granddaughters birthday

Got to sit and make some cards ...

it been soooooooooo long since I got to spend time at the art table so I wanted to do some experimenting ... I used oil pastels and heated them for the background, then drew some flowers with the just regular then took Archival Ink and did stencil work and stamped the saying "Embrace Imperfection" I thought it was very appropriate ... click to enlarge

Well what do you do with all of those scraps of paper that are just to good to throw away .... this is one of the things I did with mine .........

Fun "Dutch Door" Card

This is for my online group swap .... it was fun to make I really like doing something different with a card ..... the idea came from Splitcoaststampers.com (they have all of the dimensions) ... oh this is G45 paper

Velvet Ribbon Tag

I used rayon velvet ribbon and heat stamped the image so it gives it an embossed effect ... this was a mingle for an art group online ... oh I forgot to say the tag ribbon color is really a deep deep violet and the hanging and accent velvet ribbon is raspberry and it's vintage from my parents fabric store back in the mid 1970's ...
