My Altered Art Journal

A wonderful friend gave me this great art journal ... she started it with background papers and odd bits of pages and I am to make it come to life ...... this is my first work and I am so excited about working all thru these great pages ..... I will continue to post as I complete pages ... I am really more of a visual journalist but I am trying to write personal things in this one to go with the visual .......

I am trying to get back into the swing of things so I had a little time a few days ago and got this done ...

I want to remember the sacrifices my fore-fathers made in each of the wars that have been fought to obtain and keep our freedom and protect us .... Thank You, Daddy, Granddad, Great-Grandad and other Great-Grandads back as far as I have traced to before the Revolutionary War .... I also want to thank the men and women of today for the same sacrifices they make on an ongoing basis to keep us free and safe ... Linda

Ok new Studio/Study

this is soooooo much smaller than the other house and I now have to share the space with DH and Genealogy so here it is ... oh you can see some things still stacked on the floor and they need to find a home and I won't even show you the closet yet cause it still looks a mess that will come later .... oh and you notice I didn't even take a photo of my work surface cause it's a mess still too .... ok they didn't load correctly so the 4th & 5th one go before the 1st one (that is if you want to see the correct 360 view) ... oh I owe a HUGE thanks to my niece Phyllis for hanging my shelves especially the ones in the corner that hold my ribbons and a HUGE thanks to my son-in-law for building the desk and hanging some of the black shelves not to mention all the other things he has helped us with here ... I want to thank all for helping so much, the list is Matthew our Network specialist, Marcus our muscle and software specialist, Heather, Leita & Phyllis for moving, packing, unpacking and helping put things in place .... I owe you lots, just remember what I always say "what goes around comes around" so maybe someone will help you in your OLD age ..... ;-D ... Linda

Just to let you know I am still alive ... we have gotten moved but I am still unpacking and getting things put away ... it will probably be another couple of months before the studio is ready to make art but I am getting there ... in the mean time here are some graphics you might be able to use in your art ... oh and a photo of the new house ... happy arting and altering everyone ......

but here are some images you might be able to use ...... the packing is still going on I am now packing up all of my studio .... still hoping the move will be before the first of the new year ......

Thanksgiving is very soon

I won't be doing any art for Thanksgiving because the studio is still in a mess of culling and packing for the move .... it's now looking like we won't get moved till end of December ... oh dear ... well hopefully I can start off the New Year with some art ...... I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family .....

Guess you are wondering "what the heck still no new art" .... well things are still happening in my little part of the world that have had me putting off art but hopefully in a couple of months you will see some new stuff ... the culling and such on the move is coming along ... hubby had some major surgery (which he is doing great on his recovery just not all well yet) ... so thanks to my loyal followers and thanks to the new one for stopping by ever so often to check things out ....... later Linda

Just thought I would tell y'all why I'm not doing much art at this time .... we are downsizing our home by about 1/2 and so I am culling and sorting house stuff like crazy ... it's going to take me a month or more to go thru my studio ... lol ... anyway I hope to be able to do a little art off and on but right now it been very OFF ... Something New

While I was at the Arlington Scrapbook Convention last week I came across this vendor named "Loralie Art Stamps", her website is Loralie Designs .... I had told myself I was NOT buying any more stamps I have to many and I don't use them much anymore ....... BUT seeing these I just thought they were so much fun SOOOOOOOOOO I bought a stamp and some of the die cuts from her line ...... the stamps are line design and you get to add the colors in whatever you are working with ... I did this with Tombo markers and a blending pen, then I cut them out and added them to an alcohol ink marbled cardstock  ... this is all I was able to wipe up since then but plan on doing more because they are so much fun ....  click to enlarge
